Books, Flags and Freedom

Reports of Americans 'abusing' and defiling copies of the Koran continue to appear in the world's media. The Washington post has THIS to say about it.

Are a person's human rights infringed if a book is damaged or destroyed? I'm inclined to believe that they are not. What I think has happened is that some of the all-conquering heroes are showing the kind of ignorance we come to expect from Americans abroad; American tourists, military tourists or otherwise. But I don't think prisoners' right are being infringed.

The Muslims should learn to be less touchy; put their trust in their God to make amends come judgement day. Sure, God has been insulted. God is big enough and tough enough to take care of himself.

In the interests of balance, here's some pictures I surfed a while ago:

Guess it's tit-for-tat, eh boys?

I never liked that flag. Aesthetically, it's a disaster. A bit like the USA's foreign policy.
